Example 6: Configuring DDL Synchronization

In Previous examples we see Extract and Replicat process and dml synchronisation.

Where in if you want DDL also synchronised across databases then extract parameter file must be changed accordingly.

In addition to extract options, we must execute scripts (refer to Example 1) to configure the ddl setup.

Also, the object that need to be DDL synchronised option trandata should be enabled.

On Source Steps On Target Steps
Login to DB

&

Add the trandata for the object

./ggsci

dblogin userid ggs_owner password ggs_owner

add trandata test.myobj

Change the Extract Pump EDIT PARAMS ext2

### Insert the follwoing line to ext2 ###

EXTRACT ext2

....

DDL INCLUDE MAPPED

....

Stop & Start the Extract ./ggsci

STOP EXTRACT ext2

START EXTRACT ext2

Perform DDL on TABLE,

ADD COLUMN

ALTER TABLE test.myobj ADD NEW_COL VARCHAR2(10); Check Table New Column desc test.myobj
